Our RESIST candle is a fragrant ode to resistance, that intricate act of defiance behind the compassionate, humane evolution that we all want to see in the world. Sometimes it's a raw and rough rebellion, loud and confronting. Other times though, it can be found in the silence and in gentle, comforting deeds for the self and for others. Whatever the form, resistance focuses on that which binds us and make us whole. 50% of net sales go to the BIPOC Therapy Fund run by Inclusive Therapists/Mental Health Liberation.

Scent Notes: Haitian Vetiver, Olive Leaf + Vanilla 

The Scent Story: We sought to show the multidimensional aspects of resistance by pairing the grounding, grassy, woody, smoky and mildly citrusy aromas of Haitian vetiver with the fresh and herbaceous notes of olive leaf. Topped off with a very slight touch of vanilla, this scent blend is like a warm hug for everyone fighting for collective liberation.

The Artwork: The artwork is a nod to African Diasporic movements, identity, symbolism and flags. Rooted in the history of Pan-Africanism, red symbolizes the struggle, bloodshed and resilience despite oppression. Black symbolizes the people and our cultural heritage and green symbolizes our connection to the land, to the African continent and represents growth. Oftentimes, there is also the incorporation of yellow or gold, to symbolize the Sun, wealth, and hope for the future.

Candle Details: Each 10oz Black, matte vessel contains 7.5 ounces of wax and custom-blended fragrance, along with all natural cotton wicks. 70-80 hours of burn time each.
